Project Giving Hope
Give Love, Give Hope, Give Time... Be Winfield Kind
The Winfield Education Foundation and Winfield PTO celebrated the holiday giving season with Project Giving Hope. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we were able to give love, hope, and warmth to those in our community who need it most!
Giving LOVE through gift giving program - Families in financial hardship are invited to submit a gift wishlist (3 needs and 3 wishes) for each child and local community members help sponsor these gifts. The success of this program rests solely in the kindness and generosity of the community. If you would like to donate an item(s) or sponsor a child in need please email wef@winfield34.org or call/text Lesley Gena at (773) 344-6559. Our goal is to have each child receive all three “needs” and at least two of their “wishes”, up to the designated amount of $125, to brighten their holiday season! We have lists ready to share with those interested in sponsoring a child's gift list. You are also welcome to support specific wishes/needs or make a donation to WEF and our team of volunteers will do the shopping! We ask for new, unwrapped gift donations to be turned in by Tuesday, November 28th.
Giving HOPE at our Blood Drive - Join us on Giving Tuesday (November 28th) to give the gift that can’t be bought by donating blood. Blood products are often used in cancer treatments, accident situations, childbirth complications and organ transplants – many of these situations are not planned and do not get to take a holiday break. First time donors and anyone over the age of 16 are welcome to sign-up. Over 40% of the population is eligible to donate, yet each year less than 4% actually do...we need your help changing that statistic for our local patients! Can you spare 1 hour this holiday season? Sign-up today by clicking this link
Giving WARMTH through the Winter Gear Exchange - We will be doing a combination this year of collecting warm winter gear for the People’s Resource Center of Dupage County and our local inventory for Winfield families in need. This year we will specifically be focusing on collecting greatly needed items: snow pants, insulated gloves, boots, and coats. All sizes from infant to adult are appreciated. These items can be brought to either school office or dropped at 0S644 East St, Winfield (Alanis House). Thank you for spreading warmth this holiday season!
