Essential Needs fund/School Supply Drive SUCCESS
Our “essential needs” fund supports students and families, since academic achievement requires first having basic needs met. We began this year with the purchase of student school supply kits and a school supply drive. We thank our community partners for hosting collection boxes: Lions Panzek Martial Arts, Winfield Fire District, Winfield Park District, Winfield Library. We were able to equip all students with the tools they need to start the year off right! We're grateful to the residents and businesses, including TransPet Services, Barber Shoppe of Winfield, Lions Panzek Martial Arts, who donated to our drive. Please contact us at wef@winfield34.org for other ways to contribute.

Educational Grants
WEF is proud to provide Educational Grants to teachers, which expand our school programming and classroom learning, with the goal of enhancing learning and encouraging innovation. Congratulations to this year's grants recipients:
First grade team Mrs. Hempe and Mrs. Napolitano (Osmo bundles that will increase students' fluency towards their learning targets)
Third and fourth grade teams Mrs. Willix, Mrs. Burt, and Mrs. Nasiopulos (printed dictionaries to help students with their vocabulary learning targets while developing necessary, hands on skills)
Mr. Wdowiarz's middle school classroom (materials to develop a bioactive enclosure for their classroom pet, which has been a subject of study and a valuable addition to the students' daily experience)
All students will benefit from Mr. Siemienkowicz's request for cabinet lighting in art and project display cabinets, to better highlight and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment for our students' work!
Congratulations to all grant recipients and thank you for the thoughtful planning and research that went into these requests.
Facebook group "Winfield Local" (formerly "Winfield To-Go) is dedicated to raising awareness of our local businesses, events, and activities and bringing business and community together. Connect with business owners and consumers in Winfield and surrounding towns here
